July Results/August Goals

Monday, August 01, 2011

Well, Friday the scale said I had maintained. This morning it shows up 2lbs but I can feel the bloat in my hands and feet. I don't think I drank any water yesterday with the exception of extra water added to my iced tea. Whoops. Carbs were high yesterday as well. July didn't turn out to be the month I had hoped for, oh well.

July Goal 1: Just Say No to candy. It has snuck back in again. No place for it on my body. ~~~Not 100% on this but better than it had been.

July Goal 2: Use my tools: The gym, the tracker, the equipment I have at home~~~Didn't get to the gym much if at all and didn't track any entire days.

July Goal 3: Liquids, Liquids, Liquids!! Stay away from pop and artificially sweetened beverages limiting them to only 2 times per week if that.~~~ Did really well at the beginning of the month but not so much at the end of the month.

July Goal 4: Yoga: Try some of the yoga poses/program on the Wii Fit ~~~ Didn't use the wiifit but did try 2 different yoga dvd's from the library.

August is going to be a difficult month to plan/set goals. Friday I have a seminar all day. Next Tuesday I am on a liquid diet all day and Wednesday is my surgery. The following week DH has a medical test as well that requires prep. I planned dinners for this week and am trying to come up with some easy dishes for next week.

August Goals:
emoticon Drink plenty of water and log it each day

emoticon Find recipes to use the CSA veggies like Beets and blanch/freeze items we can't finish in time.

emoticon Finish continuing ed requirements for work

emoticon Take multivitamin everyday with dinner.

Good luck with your targets for August, always good to have a plan even if it doesn't always work out quite the way you want!

You are so organized! Setting monthly goals is a great idea and I think I'm going to steal it if that's okay with you? Wishing you well on your procedures and your August goals.

I didn't know you were having surgery, I hope it goes well and everything is ok!

Thanks for the goody! I have been remembering my vitamin.

I have the Wii Fit too and I just don't like the Yoga on it, I would rather do a dvd I think. Which DVD's are you using?

Drinking more water will help you in a lot of ways. I keep 2 or 3 bottles of water and refill them and put them in the fridge, just wash them out from time to time. They are 3 servings of 8 oz each so I know if I finish 3 bottles I've had 9 and so on. Just easier for me than drinking out of cups all day. I put them in the freezer about 1/2 an hour in the summer and then I crack the ice and have ice water.

Great job on your goals and accountability! You did better, which is what this is all about! Maybe take it easy for August, what is one month out of your life, and it sounds like you already have a great plan in place! Keep up your hard work, allow for life, and keep on going!

I really like how you have set goals for yourself for the month. What a great way to motivate yourself. What are you having surgery for?

I only really unsweetened iced tea and water--once you are able to stay off sweet drinks for a while, you will loose a taste for them. I just hope it's the same for cakes and candy! Those are my weaknesses!

Good luck in accomplishing and sticking with your goals this month! Just remember tomorrow is another day to get it right and you will get it right. Keep your eye on the prize!

I look forward to reading more of your blogs and getting to know you!
