a warm day

Sunday, July 31, 2011

a very warm and humid day here today. life has been so hectic this past while. today is the first day in a long time where i had nothing planned for the day and it felt so good. it is just around the time of my anniversary. it would have been our 9th anniversary this year,if my late husband was still alive. in december, it will be three years since his passing. i will always have a special place in my heart for him. he was a part of my life for 6 wonderful years. he gave me a gift others were not willing or able to, a beautiful girl. she is now 6 years old and is doing very well. he always wanted a daughter and he got his wish. i always wanted at least one child and i got my wish. i can just see my husband smiling down from heaven on us, watching over both of us,knowing that we are doing alright. my birds are now used to him not being here. they miss him in their own way. i like to reflect on my life when one month comes to an end and another one begins. there are days where i really miss him and days where i am alright. i am so glad i have so much support from my family, friends and sparkfriends from all around the world. that support has gotten me and my daughter through what was a very trying time in our lives. we continue to get that support whenever we need it. my daughter has become quite the reader. once she was able to read simple words, then sentences, now she can read a simple level 2 children's book on her own. she can read a level 3 children's book mostly on her own. if there is a word she cannot pronounce or has trouble with, she asks. she is looking forward to starting grade 1 this september and she wants to bring her lunch every day. have a great day, everyone. keep cool for those who are experiencing a heat wave.

I feel that our grieve gets softer and for that I am thankful. No one could survive if we stayed in that "just rip my heart out" stage of grieve. I'm glad that your daughter is doing well. I was 6 when my dad died so I know the feeling of not having him in my life. You being a good mom is the best thing your daughter could ask for. Take care. emoticon
