i feel blissful right now. My parents, youngest daughter and son have all been here for a family meal. It's the first time since Christmas that Abby (daughter) has been home. She left last June for college and has only been home twice since then-christmas and now. Saturday mornings were always our time together, buying groceries, shopping and just goofing off. It was such a joy to have her all to myself again this morning.
Our son lives in Kansas City and came down to pick up his parakeet. We've "birdsat" for him the last three weeks as he traveled. My parents live at Bennet Spring State Park and came up just to see Abby and Josh. They brought fresh peaches, both white and yellow, to share.
At the moment, Abby and her Dad are off on our new bikes for a ride on the Katy Trail. Russ just got his pedals and clips, so it could be an interesting ride.
I love moments like this but, they happen so rarely. I sit here in a quiet house, alone, just soaking in the days moments and counting my blessings. It feels like I've gone full tilt for the last year. I honestly don't remember the last time I had this much quiet all to myself. Lovely!
