The weather was beautiful here today-- low 80s and breezy was a blessing after the past week of ridiculous heat. I was feeling pretty good this morning, so I did Day1 of the 30-day Shred (note: I will probably take longer than 30 days to do this. That's OK. I've found in the past that a rest day w/just moderate cardio is sometimes helpful between "shred" days).
Then I did a ton of work. This is the last week of the semester, and I'm teaching my final class tomorrow. So I've been trying to get all of the grading done-- I'd really like to turn all of my grades in on Friday and have the entire weekend FREE. I also had some other writing to do. I managed to make some serious dents in everything, and it felt GOOD.
So good, in fact, that I committed to more cardio tonight-- a 6+mile loop bike trail. Still feeling OK (my thighs are a bit on the complain-y side), still feeling glad that I can do these things and that I'll continue to get better over time. I'm thinking about signing up for a bike race (really, a ride) in September as motivation. We'll see.
For now, its enough to feel like I'm making little bits of forward progress. On a beautiful, breezy summer night, that's all I need to keep going.
