Stardate Day Two.

Ok, second day tracking nutrition and fitness.

I have fallen into the habit of snacking on bits and pieces. This medication has heightened the habit of grazing I already had - if I prepare a meal and the first couple bites don't appeal, I put the fork down. Then an hour later I grab a handful of nuts and dried fruit and all is well. So I grazed a lot yesterday, but it wasn't on the greatest foods. Potato chips, anyone? Everything got entered honestly into the tracker and I was at the low end for calories but it wasn't optimal nutrition by any means.

Daughter is off with the boyfriend today so it'll be a challenge to make myself do some extra walking. Plus I have to fiddle with the pedometer and get it set correctly - I have it 12 hours ahead somehow. Even the simplest technology trips me up.

    I have to begin tracking again too. I fell off the wagon kind of big time on vacation and I refuse to buy bigger clothes again so I have to get back to it! Even though this blog is from July you are still inspiring me to get back to it! Thanks lady!

    Good for you logging your food! It's a great thing even if you aren't 100% happy with your food choices.
I once read in an intuitive eating book that eventually a person will choose healthier more nutritious foods over time as one becomes more aware of what they are eating. I think it's been true for me. Some days I spend my calories on foods that aren't the healthiest. But I do stay in my calorie range and over time, things seem to get better. I like to try and eat 80-90% healthy foods and that leaves 10-20% for 'fun' foods.
A plan I can live with!

    Having healthy snacks would be good like fruit and vegetables. Nuts in a small amount is ok but dried fruit is full of sugar.

I tend to get something out for tea in the morning then come tea time do not fancy it so I wait till later in the day, thank goodness for microwaves for defrosting.
