Updates on Back-On-Track Week (Vlog!)

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Hey Friends-- Just checking in to let you know how this week is going so far, as well as a few other updates around here.

I should mention that despite the horrible storm we had this early morning, we are sooooo thankful and blessed to say that we did NOT get any water in our basement at our new home! *phew!* There have been reports of flash flooding and water-drenched basements across town, as well as flooded roads that are closed for travel all from the rain we just got. We also avoided the power-outages that happened across the city too, so we're very relieved and thankful for that!

How is YOUR week going? Feeling on-track or out of control? Let me know how I can help! Be AWESOME this week!

-Whit

Love the shoes! I need to get new ones. Mine are so worn. I think I've had them for more than 2 years. I went to a place that analyzes your step and then brings out a pair that matches. It's nice. I need to go back. You spend a little more but it's totally worth it.

Good luck with your training. Half marathon...That's incredible. Maybe I'll be there in 2 or 3 years. But I need to get though my first 5K before I start tackling that. lol. I'll get there.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

You are so beautiful! I love the vlog! Good call on the 1/2 size bigger in running shoes...that should help out the toes.

Ah yes, black toenails--I have a couple myself from shoes that were too small for the longer distances I've been running. They were fine for 5Ks or so, but feet definitely swell more in heat and as you go longer distances. Sounds like you are doing great at getting back on track and in control; it's all part of the journey, isn't it, learning how to do that? YAY for new shoes, hope they do well for you!

Yay for new running shoes. They do have to be .5 to 1 size larger than your regular shoe.
    Good luck with your training!!!
I just did an 8 mile run last weekend in training for my HM in October :-)

    Whit,

Can you read some stories for your next blog? That would be really exciting.

For your rest day.....stretch, corework, and try some balance work. You can do it while hanging out watching TV or a movie.

Eat your most calories at breakfast and after your workout.

What macronutrient breakdown do you follow?

Black toes? Don't sweat it, use fingernail polish for now, get a bigger toe box or thinner socks.

    As usual you Rock! Thanks

Hello beautiful lady! Loved your video blog, nice to see you, just as 'you' :)

Lunges & Squats are the ultimate nemesis indeed - but definitely a GOOD hurt! (Yoga may help work out that muscle strain...)

As a tip, I do my meal planning on Sundays, really helps me get in the mood for the week and get excited about making dinners. I'd be open to swapping recipes with you sometime :)

My most recent shoe purchase was a jazzy pair of Mizunos as well - I love them! I hope they work great as you train for that Half Marathon.

As for me, I am definitely trying to get back on track this week as well, I was travelling for business last week and my diet and exercise routines fell all out of whack. My trip to the scale when I got home told the true story - a need to get back to normal, counting calories, working out every day. It's so hard to get back once you've been off track for even a week.

Anywhoo.....thanks again - I always look forward to your blogs. Have a great week and weekend!

    Lisa

You are so gorgeous It is really nice to see video blogs your see more of our spark friends than just a written blog. I have done a video blog which I hadn't done for a while either. I don't like to do them all of the time as they take so long to load. YOur shoes were funky and its always good to bag a bargain.
Glad you are having a great week. So am I...
Keep on keeping on Whit. emoticon
