The day I have been waiting for!

Today was my husband's first day back at work since February! Really happy on so many levels! A regular paycheck will seem like heaven, and we qualify for insurance starting August 18th. This week is going to be somewhat tricky as he is scheduled to entertain as well in the evenings, so it will be straight from his day job to his balloon twisting gig. I hope they both go well!

We had a graduation party for my daughter yesterday and she had a sleepover as well. Getting ready for the party was a lot of work, but it went really well despite a morning thunderstorm. My Mom brought her famous slush and we had a light buffet. Enjoyed seeing family and friends!

Our first exchange student left on Saturday. We had lots of fun with him and I will miss him a lot. Our next students, twins, arrive on Sunday from Belgium. A week later they leave and I get a boy from France for 3 weeks! It has made for a fun filled summer. I am learning to be the queen of finding fun things to do for free!

I need a push now...we watched Sick, Fat, and Almost Dead for the third time. I borrowed a juicer. I bought the vegetables and fruit I need to start. I just need to start. With my lifestyle, when is a good time to start? They say at the beginning of a detox you feel somewhat sick to the stomach, and I work tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, and I am getting my students on Sunday. Should I go for the juicing, or just eat the fruits and veggies and wait a couple of weeks until my schedule is lighter? I am afraid to get on the scale. I tried to weigh myself yesterday but the battery is lo. I am afraid I am my highest weight ever!

I need to work on paperwork and then get some sleep, my husband has to be out the house and ready to go for both jobs by 5:30 AM. This could be tricky! I took a nap earlier in the evening because I am so exhausted and just want to say "screw it" and go to sleep, but I can't. Pushing on, moving forward.

Please help me with some motivating weight loss thougts!

    Sorry it has been so long since my last visit but I am soooo happy to hear the good news of your husband's job. Best of luck to him and a new start for both of you.

    I guess I'm coming in on the tail end of the detox thing but I would suggest just actually eating the fruits and veggies instead of drinking them since you have out of the house work to do, if ya know what I mean !!!!

    Hope all other things in your life are going well and will try harder to stop by more often aspecially to give you the support you need. I know what it means to have the motivation to stay on track.

    Great news on the job front. Wow, you've got a lot going on during your summer! The fear of your weight is draining energy and adding stress. Get the number from the scale, get the knowledge, lighten up with the loss of dread. Then, have some fruits and veggies and be proud of eating healthy foods whether they're juiced or whole. Keeping going no matter what is obviously one of your strengths. So, tomorrow, add another step toward being healthy: walking maybe? For motivating thoughts: your body is amazing in letting you accomplish and handle as much as you do. Think how much better your body will feel as you take care of it with healthy food, rest, relaxation. emoticon emoticon

    YAY! Congratulations on the new job and all that goes with it for your husband! You are amazing with the way you keep everything in your life so together. The jobs you've taken on, the exchange students, your family! Keep up the hard work, you'll get there.

    I haven't done a juicing detox but I do use my juicer (yum! but it takes some time to prepare) but I have done a detox through my chiropractor several times and I've done it while being busy with family matters. I would recommend to wait until things slow down.

    Best of luck, though, if you decide to go ahead. There's no reason you can't just add juicing to your regular eating routine for now (so the veggies & fruit don't go to waste).
