Week 4 Complete

Yesterday's long Run was 5.5 miles- the longest I've ever done in my life. It went pretty well overall. The first mile or so was tough. The second mile...even tougher. But once I hit 2.5-ish (and could start to see "the end" lol) it started to get MUCH better. We ran inside (since it was a cool 105 degrees outside) and though I actually don't mind treadmill running, for a good 30 minutes a lovely gentleman hopped on the treadmill next to me...he already stank something god-awful when he started, but then he proceeded to play Black Sabbath VERY loudly on his phone and air-drum (complete with head-banging, which flung sweat...where else? All over ME. GROSS). I thought I was in a nightmare, it was so awful.

But anyway. I finished and actually felt pretty awesome afterwards. Kristen and I bought this recovery drink called Endurox R4 and chugged 12 oz about 2 minutes after stepping off the treadmill. I think it really helped because we didn't feel nearly as fatigued and sore post-workout as we normally do after such a challenging run.

Physically, this marathon training business is tough. But THAT'S where the real challenges are....
