my old nemesis the all-you-can eat buffet

Sunday, July 24, 2011

We took the kids to a baseball game this afternoon and I managed to avoid the usual ballpark fair by packing our lunch. We sweated it out through 7 innings before calling in a day and heading for home. But on the way back we stopped at the mall get a jump on back to school shopping and before I knew it it was 6:30 and everyone is hungry. Though in my case I think that I was more thirsty than anything. So, we stopped at the all-you-can-eat buffet, because there would be no waiting and we could get everyone feed and back on our way home. I think that I did ok considering that all of the veggies were over cooked and doused in butter, or margarine. No fried chicken but I did have fried shrimp. I had a lot of veggies and water. I think that I'll call this go around a draw.

well done for such self control! We have often been guilty of getting more than our money's worth. There is a place not far from here which does the deal in the daytime for under £5, (about $8) and we have learned we can fill up on the salads, avoid the fried things for children but go for the carvery where the veg is plain. My temptation is always the ribs, I just have to walk past!
