My pre-diabetic challenge

I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, so my goal is to lose 16 pounds in the next 8 weeks and become stronger, eat healthier, and have better test results in eight weeks. I already drink my water and meet this goal everyday. I need to track MORE consistently.

My goals for this week are:
1. three videos for strength training
2. continue my daily swim for 30 - 60 mins
3. track my food intake at least 3 days

I know that I can do this - I have done many challenges on Spark been successful!

    Claire, the difference in the diets is the whole grains. Whole grains need to be eaten in severe moderation. I still eat whole grains as I hate white bread, potatoes, rice,ect... but I have it severe moderation. I do not eat much sugar, sweets are not my problem. I removed sugar from my diet almost 7 years ago. When I drink tea - it is plain tea, which used to be the main time I would have sugar.

    I do not know enough about my condition yet, but you are right. I will figure it out. Sometimes I hate that I am such a strong person, because I come across as not needing help, when sometimes I DO.

    If there is a difference between the diabetic diet and the kidney diet, the kidney diet wins, so there isn't much you need to change - maybe some further reduction in sugar if you eat any. And eat less whole grain products.

    I have no doubt you'll figure it all out cuz you're strong and you make things happen!

    I know you can do this Jen you are a strong person. Going through all the surgery, and health issues, and going to school i know you can do this.
    When i was in my 30 my sugar was very high Dr. put me on diet control, and i did it, brought my sugar down. I was scared because my grandmother and dad were diabetics. My dad also had kidney disease. My sugar has never elevated since then and i am so glad.
