This March I decided that I would try my luck with starting some tomatoes indoors from seed. I was skeptical as I have tried this before and either nothing sprouted or they did sprout and didn't make it to the transition to outside. To my surprise, I managed to plant the seed and transfer the seedlings to pots. I didn't hold my breath. Due to the all the rain we had, I couldn't really harden them and the plants were all weak and spindly. Nevertheless, I thought I would give it a try. I have nurtured them for months and actually have tomatoes! Woo Hoo! They are cherry tomatoes - a variety that are to be grown in pots. The tomatoes are all still green, but I have tons of them. I will leave a few photos below. Knock on wood. Hopefully, nothing will happen to them and in a few months, I'll be eating some juicy, red, ripe tomatoes that I planted from seed! Hee! Hee! I'm as giddy as a little girl!
That's a great looking plant ! Well done ! I "cheated". I bought small plants ! LOL !!! I didn't have the patience to grow them from seeds.
My plants are growing like weeds thanks to this outrageous heatwave. They seem to be the only thing thriving in this heat ! LOL !!! I have lots of flowers and you can see very small tomatoes beginning to sprout.
Can't wait to see if they develop. I tried tomatoes a couple of years ago and I did get tomatoes. Did I get to try them ? NO ! but the squirrels did ! ha !
