Still holdin' steady!

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

Bootcamp still "owns" me 3 days a week, the gym another 2. Weight loss is ever so slow, but for once I am not measuring success by a number on the scale. I know I am dropping inches like crazy and people are noticing the weight loss so I guess I am gaining muscle and losing inches, even if the pounds are stubbornly not going away! However I feel stronger, more fit, calmer, happier with my body, more confident. I guess that's pretty good, even if the scale refuses to budge! Everything in it's own time. I am happy with the progress I've made. And I will stick to it until the scale matches the rest of me!

That's great! I am discouraged that I've been putting the pounds back on but on the other hand, I had my best 10 mile race in ten years today! So, I think I will shift focus for the winter and try some circuit training and speed training and try to build strength, a little change up usually helps! Keep up the good work!

Way to ride out the frustration. I have given up on the scale matching the rest of me. I was morbidly obese for at least 25 years, so I'm sure my bone density had to adjust to carry the load. I am 6 feet tall, wear a size 12 shoe and a 40DDD accessory holder.

I have a coworker that is 167 lbs and is a size 12. I am 220 lbs and I wear a size 12. The scale can go to **LL as far as I'm concerned.

Stick with it!

Keep Sparking!

I'm glad you are happy with your progress, as you should be! Do you notice the tone in your body? I notice a big difference in the 10 lbs I lost this year vs. the 10 lbs I lost last year. Last year was pretty normal eating, but hefty workouts. This year was no workouts, just super healthy eating. Last year I was tone, this year, not nearly as much.
You're doing an awesome job! Stick with it!!
