Gardening at night

(That's from an old REM song)
This heat is killing me and my vegetables. For the second year in a row I've planted some veggies in pots in our backyard. You would think the tomatoes like the heat, but appearently it is so hot the tomatoes don't like it. Out of 4 plants 1 completely died, no fruit and did not take root, the second one is hanging in there but appears to have some strange fungus. The two other plants are doing fine but their leaves are wilted from the heat. I'm not really sure what to do. I know they are getting enough water. Anyway the peppers are out of control. We have 3 different kinds jalapeņos, cherry bombs and Thai chillies. I'm pretty excited to watch them all grow. And finally we just replaced one of the dead tomatoes with an eggplant, so we'll see what happens, so far it has 3 little eggplants and 2 flowers. I hope the eggplants enjoy the heat more than the tomatoes.

Wow your poor tomatoes!! The gardening sounds great though! I hope the rest of them survive long enough for you to enjoy garden fresh produce emoticon

My plants are not doing real well. Too much rain. I am just happy it isn't too hot here. Good luck with your garden.
