I have been living with stress forever.
I have two sisters who stress me out. I am in medical school which stresses me out. I'm living 8 hours away from home which stresses me out. I can't take my cat with me which stresses me out. I am about to start caring for real live patients with actual problems which stresses me out.
And I don't handle stress well. I clench my jaw day and night, I crave bad for me foods, I cry over little things. It just has never been easy for me. But I am doing what I love and what I am meant to do - go to school to be a doctor. It hasn't been an easy road and it's definitely not going to get easier as I go. So I think now is as good a time as any to make some changes to help get in control of my stress and stay happy and healthy.
I joined the Stress Busting Challenge awhile back, but am just now starting it. I'm going to try to do a couple of blog posts each week as a way to keep track of how things are going and help me stay focused.
Life is full of stress, but I don't have to put up with it. There are better ways to deal with it and I am hoping to learn and use those over the coming weeks. Here's to a life that is happy, healthy, and stress free!
