Hollywood or Real Spark-Have I Been a Real Sparker/Living Healthy- Person??

Monday, July 18, 2011

Next Monday my son leaves for boot camp! If you didn't know, he joined the U.S. Marines emoticon

I am very excited for him.

I know he will be changed.

Since he has attended weekly meetings with a group of recruits he has had the opportunity to see other recruits go to and return from boot camp.

He had been told that every one will look different when they return.

After he had attended these meetings for many months, he told me that it's true.

He watched other recruits go and return from boot camp.

He said they actually do look different when they return.

In fact he didn't even recognize some of them that he knew before they went to camp.

I know that these young men and women go through an intense time at camp.

There is no way I could ever know exactly what they go through,

but haven't I seen military boot camp movies like 'Stripes' with Bill Murray? And Gomer Pyle USMC? emoticon

Well, of course that's Hollywood.

Sometimes I think there is a 'Hollywood' mentality in me when it comes to Sprarking/Living Healthy

I need to be in the REAL thing, not a fantasy version of my own making.

This lifestyle I have embarked on is one that I have really struggled with.

I realize that within me is a fantasy version of SPARKING/Living Healthy, struggling to live on the center stage.

May the real thing not be shrouded by what doesn't belong in a true SPARKER!

I agree with your blog. I think I do the same thing. Sometimes it just helps to get through, but it's not fair to myself.

Prayers for your boy on his new accomplishment. It must be exciting, but scary all at the same time.

    Karen, thanks for the compliment.

and I agree. I think that writing to self can certainly be a way to work on my ultimate goals.

Hopefully I can be honest with myself.

That is the where I need God.

HE illumines what we need to know.

And knowing that we can be self deceived,

it takes His working in us to bring about any realness.

Does that make sense?

Great blog- have you ever tried journalling? You may be able to strip away the layers of the onion (your fantasy versions) by writing to yourself.

It's worth a try-
