Angel - a tribute

Friday, July 15, 2011

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my faithful companion Angel. Angel was my grey and white kitty that I've had for 9 years. She was my grandmothers cat and came to live with me with she passed away. Angel had been sick on and off for the last two years and I didn't want her to suffer anymore.
It's so hard coming home without her here. I will really miss her. Some of her favorite things were ice cream and rottiserie chicken. She liked to lay in my lap when i was watching TV and purred like a motor boat. She would sleep with me and when she wanted to wake me up or get me to pet her she would tap my hand with her paw. It was so sweet. She was strickly an inside cat and hated to ride in the car. She was happy just being the queen of the house. I just paid the mortgage. I am trying not to be sad because she had a really good life and she was almost 17. I guess with time it will get easier I hope. For all the petlovers out there I am sure you understand how I feel.

We definitely understand. That is so hard. Wow...17...that is really awesome. She definitely had a great life and sounds VERY sweet. And it's wonderful that you took such good care of her...even in these last two years of sickness...bless you. Thank you for all your encouragement! I hope you have a TERRIFIC weekend! Enjoy! Celebrate your blessings! Spark on! emoticon

And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
    To decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked God.
    Soon, replied the whiskered angel
    But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.

But don't they understand? asked God
    That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.

    Eventually they will understand,
    Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.
