I'm not sure if the rest of you have a midpoint review at work, but I have one every year. We talk about my yearly goals and how I've been doing, what I want to continue to do and what I want to work on. This year my goals will drastically change during the second half of the year, so it really made me think about goals related to my personal and health too. I decided to do a midpoint review of my health goals since we're halfway through the year (WHATTTTT?!).
Goals in 2011:
- Be cancer free!
On my way! My last blood work and ultrasounds were clear and the doctors were really pleased with my progress. I'm feeling great (somewhat tired but that's normal when you're always on the go!) and know that my health is numero uno!
- Begin graduate school and find routine with working out/nutrition/yoga.
Check! I started a grad class this summer and felt good about my mentality, planning and incorporating workouts into my weeks. It will be a challenge when I start full time in the fall so I'm thinking about plans already!
- Fit into size 8 dress for friend's wedding/high school reunion
Working on this one! My friend's wedding is in October so I have 3 months to work my way down 3 sizes. We'll see - it's not my ultimate priority but it would be nice if it happens :)
- Meditate and practice yoga daily in the morning before work.
Yoga has fallen off lately but I miss it so much! I want to make this a priority to get back to.
- Move in with The Dude and continue a loving relationship.
Check! We moved in, we love it and we're continuing to have a great time :)
- Get a rescue puppy!
I'm starting to look at puppies for August! I cannot wait. Seriously. Puppy snuggles here I come.
- Continue developing my blog
Check!
- Research yoga teacher training to apply for next summer
This one has also been put on hold but it's something I'm really interested in.
- Get to my "healthy" weight by tracking weight, body fat, measurements and clothing. I'm not sure where that will be, but I am aiming for the 150s.
I've fallen off on the working out and eating well for my body so I'm committed to getting back to that. I KNOW that I can get to my healthiest weight and BMI/body fat percentage so I'm excited to do so. It's a continuous journey, all the time, every day and I know there's no right or wrong way to approach it. My mental and emotional health are feeling the best they've been in 8 months so I'm excited for my physical health to get there too!
