I have had several bad starts. This time I am going to stick to it. I bought The Spark last year and put it up and didn't read it. I decided to get it out a couple of weeks ago and this time read it. I am so glad I did.
I have been tracking what I eat for the past 3 months I think it is really helping me. It is really making me aware of what is going in my mouth. I have started tracking before and never kept it up for more then a couple of weeks.
It is taking me twice as long to shop now because I am spending so much time reading labels. That is some thing I said I would never do..........lol
I also in January joined Curves. I really like it and go 4 to 5 times a week. I am also doing Zumba there twice a week. Besides that I have a Wii that has been sitting for over a year that I have started doing again. I do the Wii Zumba twice a week and I plan to start the EA Active 30 day challenge next week.
I was doing good a couple of years ago I had lost about 18 lbs then things changed in my life. My son and granddaughter moved in with me about the same time my daughter took a job close to where I live. My daughter was coming to my house for lunch she would bring left overs. I was cooking things my son and granddaughter liked and of course I was eating them. It didn't take long before I had gained back 10 lbs. My daughter got a new job that was farther away and then my son and granddaughter moved out after 2 years. So it has taken me about 6 months to really get back on track and I plan to stay on track this time.
I want to live a healthier life then I have been. I have always done a lot of mindless snaking through out the day. I have finally got a hold on that I have a couple of healthy snacks a day and 3 healthy meals. Before breakfast wasn't a part of my day. Now a day don't go by that I doing have a healthy breakfast.
I have been doing a lot of research on the restaurants that I always have gone to in the past. I was shocked at how many calories were in some of the meals I have been eating out. It really makes me stop and think before I stop at one when I am out. Most of the time I just think about the healthy foods I have at home and decide to come home and eat.
When I am out shopping and want to buy some thing sweet or a salty snack I read the label and ask is it really worth it. No its not!!!!!!!!!!!
Just resently I grabbed a pair of size 12 pants out of the closet that I haven't been able to get into for 2 years. I was able to zip them with out any problem. My next step will be the size 10's that I was just getting into 2 years ago.
I feel like I am really making the right changes in my life. I am doing this for me and I really want this to work.
