July 10, cardio and ankles

Sunday, July 10, 2011

yay, I can see my ankles again!
I only lost one more pound of water weight but that's okay.
I can move, and walk again without the water weight pressing on the tops of my feet.
TODAY
I started working out with the SPARKPEOPLE CARDIO DVD I won on the bonus spin.
emoticon
I chose the simple routine - indoor walking exercises.
I ONLY LASTED TEN MINUTES... and MOST of that was the WARM-UP.
emoticon
I'm going to stick with it every day, and eventually work with it several times a day.
MY BIG PROBLEM since joining SP
has been my lack of commitment and consistency.
Until I keep my determination every day, I won't progress,
and I'll keep losing and gaining that SAME 30 POUNDS.

I do learn from my mistakes.
THIRD TIME is a charm - so I'm now CHARMED. hah hah YAY

I think you're doing a great job. 10 minutes of a cardio program can feel like an hour in the beginning. I KNOW!!! I have this nasty habit I formed years ago that has a problem when I do cardio....breathing! I was doing great last fall before I gave up my water aerobics. I surely hope I'll be back at the pool soon, if not in aerobics, at least getting some water movement exercises. We do what we can do. And I hear your determination in this blog, you charmed thing, you! I know you'll do fine. emoticon

Take care, Sweetie,

Very good, Marsha. It is so easy to get discouraged and much harder to keep the commitment and consistency, as you say. Here's to you and all of us in meeting that challenge! Jeannie

I hated that swelling in my ankles and feet.
Try to cut down on the sodium, I added it to my food tracker and always check it with each entry. I haven't had a problem this year or last.
Congrats on the weight loss. Your back on track and picking up speed! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know you feel better getting rid of that water. Always feel so bloated with it. I was in Peru on a mission trip and my ankles were really swollen. Hubby and I went to the local Walmart like store that had a pharmacy and wanted to buy some lasix which they sell over the counter. Could not get the clerk to understand. Finally, I put my foot up onto the counter and pointed to the ankle and said, "aqua" which is water in Spanish. She immidiately got it and got the lasix for me.

emoticon !! a 10 minute workout is a great start !! Before you know it, you'll find your endurance and stamina will increase.

I know how you feel. Twice in my life I weighed over 200 pounds. Then came the point when I decided there wasn't going to be a third time. So, I know you'll achieve your goals ! Just take this slow and easy. take those small steps literally and figuratively.

Commitment and Consistency! Those seem to be problems for many of us! I've even thought about starting a new team focusing on them.
Just keep getting those short bursts of exercise in. They do count and add up to success.
Stay positive!

Marsha, What a great blog and Lady You are. Yes, the 3rd Time is the Charm for many of us. I am so glad you're working out and gradually you can keep adding to the time. Congratulations on being down a lb--that is awesome and I'll bet you have pretty ankles now--LOL!! I also need to improve in my commitment and consistency as unfortunately I can relate to what your saying about losing then regaining those pounds again. We Can Do This!!

Hugs,

Jill
