How quickly time flies. Was it only just this Wednesday that I was crowned and soon it will be time to pass this beautiful crown along to another, one far more deserving I'm sure. Congrats to Alanna for not only being an Apple, but for her amazing selections for the Sparkler of the Week. I haven't been disappointed yet!!
To recap my Thursday, Reign Day 2, I had a wonderful surprise and a bad work out. However, as Evil Judy popped up in my mind repeatedly going, "NAH, NAH, NAH, NAH, NAH, knew you couldn't do it!", I reminded the Evil One that any work out is better than no work out at all, even if it wasn't what I wanted. I still got good and sweaty.
I realized, after going out on the balcony and greeting my subjects, that it was the dreaded hour. Work out time. There are days and yesterday was one of them when it wasn't so much a treadmill as it was a dreadmill. I didn't want to any more then any of King Henry's (boy, would he have benefitted from Spark! Do you get points for recruiting dead people?) wives wanted to climb up the scaffold. In fact, I thought I had found a way out. Evil Judy had hidden my workout shirt!! I had gotten a full pardon.
"Oh, there's a free shirt on the table in the kitchen. You could use that." Evil Coworker said. Thwarted. "It was XXXX's that she got rid of." Back in business. XXXX is about 1/3 of the size I am; NO WAY it's gonna fit. I went and looked. Sure enough, it's a large. I never fit in anything smaller than a XL, and usually take a XXL. But Evil Coworker had come in and was hovering.
"I think it's too small."
"Give it a try."
"Ok..." This Evil Coworker used to be the first one to jump and say, "Forget exercise. Let's eat something greasy." Where was THAT girl?
So I went to the gym with the Large shirt in tow. It was hot in there, but who cared? I was going to not fit into a shirt and be done with the gym that day. Life was SWEET! Only, wouldn't you know it, THE SHIRT FIT!! THE SHIRT FIT!! It felt GREAT on and I forgot that I didn't want to work out and started doing a happy dance. Fortunately the locker room was empty, so no lives were lost.
But due to the fact that it was OVER 80 degrees in the gym, I walked 3 miles in 50 minutes. I was still pretty sweaty, but it was supposed to be a light recovery day and I didn't want to have heat-related problems in the gym because I insisted on running. I put in another ticket to have the a/c turned on, for all the good that will do.
So Reign Day 2 ended with a feast to celebrate the triumph of fitting in a large size piece of clothing. I chopped up 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 plum, and cherries and mixed it with low fat yogurt and a sprinkle of granola. A treat fit for a Sparkly Queen!!
