Independence Day & My First Blog Entry !

Monday, July 04, 2011

I am sitting here in Brooklyn, NY , watching the John Adams marathon on HBO with my husband. I started SparkPeople yesterday - bought the book and made the decision that THIS independence day was going to be my independence from the ties of sedentary behavior and overeating foods that made me feel good, TEMPORARILY , that I have long been in denial of.
I have often heard that "nothing changes "if nothing changes" " - at the age of 53, a previously active, healthy woman now in her 5 year of breast cancer recovery and 90 lbs later (the horror! I have been telling people it was only 65lbs!), I am ready mentally and physically to JUST DO IT!
So, self, if the successful participants of sparkpeople are blogging as another tool for their success, then so shall I - NOW LET'S GO TO THE GYM!!

I, too, just joined on Independence Day for the same reasons - to become independent of bad habits, boredom eating, and not exercising - so we can do this together :-)

Welcome to the Spark!!! Congrats on the choice to live a healthier and better life...and also for 5 years of Breast Cancer Recovery! That in it's self makes you a stronger and beautiful person! If you can fight off cancer...then you can fight off the 90lbs! I wish you all the luck in the world. May you have a blessed 4th of July!

God Bless
