My son is moving back to California! I am Soooooo excited to have the grandkids back nearby! It has been tough for them in Oregon, mostly for the DIL. She has truly missed her friends here, and with my son traveling so much, she has been pretty isolated and lonely. So...they decided that since the four year old will be starting school soon, this is a good time to do it. They had renters in their house, and they trashed the place, so they don't want to rent it again. Since they built that house from the earth up, and love the land, the view of the river, etc. they decided they couldn't sell it, but COULD sell the house in Oregon. So, they are coming home. End of March. The girls are excited to be closer to Grandma, I am excited to be close to them. Ah....more prayers answered....
We were at a dinner party last night, and I didn't eat too badly, til the Baileys, and Godiva liquor came out...I over indulged again, but fortunately had eaten very light yesterday. I felt bloated and yukky this morning, but after eating just veggies and fruit so far today, I am feeling back to normal. Guess it will always be a balance.
Our friends from Belgium asked if we always go out every night, and eat like this all the time....yeah, right! I couldn't stand it. We are going out again tomorrow and Weds to celebrate Chinese New Years. WIll be fun. Again, knowing I will probably eat more than I would if I was home, I am already planning my breakfast and lunch tomorrow.
The Pro-tour (like Tour de California) is coming to its conclusion in Sacramento tomorrow. The bicyclers will circle the capitol just as I am ready to interview....so where the heck will I park? They are expecting 250K people to be there to cheer the winners on....I have to leave my office, drive away from downtown, hop on light rail, walk five blocks (and it is supposed to RAIN tomorrow!) to get downtown just across the street from the action. I wish I didn't have to work at all...I would love to see the athletes. What motivation!
All is good. Got a walk in this morning...knee still tender, so I am going easy, but got in close to a mile without too much difficulty.
