I was having pain in my hand . I went to the doctor and he said it was the lump on the side of my hand that was causing it and I needed to get it removed. But the surgeon said he doubted his exact words were he was skeptical that the pain and numbness was caused by the lump and he wanted a MRI, Now that means I put my whole body into a machine ( at out of pocket expense ) just to scan my hand. And you wonder why health care is so expensive.
But Hubby is still recovering from surgery on his eye and I am his care taker and chauffeur.
I would have a cast on for a month... This to remove something that is not causing my pain.

this is a picture of my mother. Her right arm was removed in 1953 because they said she had melanoma and would die slowly of cancer. She is now 87 and has lived all that time with one arm.

I think you have to put your whole body in the MRI machine, but I don't think they will go beyond the hand or arm for the MRI. I hat MRI's. They are so noisy!

YOU ARE KIDDING ME ------ A WHOLE BODY M.R.I. FOR YOUR HAND?? Pretty amazing how thorough (NOT) medicine is............. I'll bet they could use the digital mammograph machine and do the same thing...........................
