I am back on the syndrome X diet plan, but modified. Carb addiction is strong so I limit my carbs to fiber foods. Feed the need but not derailing my transition. I gained back the weight I lost ten years ago but I have decided to take control. My original weight was 210 and I got down to 170. Over the past 10 years it crept back up to 206. I am now 196.6 (daughter was home and wanted certain foods I do not eat any more so I gained a pound in the week she was home).
I am limiting my calories because I haven't gotten back to exercising. Once I start working out again I will slowly increase the caloric intake.
I have had a lot of stress recently as I took a job in a new city/state. Took my only child to college. Husband's business closed. I was repositioned in my job (to my displeasure) and I am looking for a new job back in the state I left.
So, health is an issue all the way around. Lose weight= lower bp, lower insulin, lower cholesterol, etc. Here I go!
