DIY Challenge Entry Form

My Challenge Name: Just Effin' Do It Already! emoticon

emoticon My Starting Weight: Will weigh in the morning - never at night! emoticon

emoticon Four Other things I will be measuring during this challenge & their current stats: (body measurements, race times, crunch max, jeans size, whatever YOU need to track)
1. Pants size
2. Hips
3. Waist
4. How many flights of stairs at work I can do without falling out

emoticon If I am going to be 100% honest with myself, the reason I am doing this challenge is because I need help and encouragement to reach my goals. Controlling my eating and getting in more exercise is not any fun. I need something to make it fun!

emoticon I feel like the reason that I have not been progressing as well as I hoped I would be is because I don't have enough self control and discipline. I cannot control my eating for longer than 3-4 days.

emoticon This time, I commit to finishing my challenge because I know that if I can finish this challenge and be successful, I can finish the next challenge. I can finally start making real progress!

emoticon I'm scared of failing again and never being able to lose this weight.

emoticon I want to move the scale down and get out of my fatter and into my just fat clothes.

emoticon But I have faith in - I want to say me, but I don't really have faith in me. I want to! But there is this long history of failure...

emoticon And THIS TIME, I will NOT quit, because THIS TIME I'm just going to effin' do it already!!!!!!

emoticon My top five non-health related motivations right now are:
1. I need new clothes.
2. I want my Wii to stop telling me I'm obese.
3. I don't want to be a fat fifty.
4. I want to feel better about myself.
5. If I'm in a burning building, I don't want the fireman to have trouble carrying me out.

emoticon The best way to motivate me is to hold me accountable.

emoticon The best way I can motivate myself is to stay positive by any means necessary - look up motivational quotes, hang out on my SP teams, whatever it takes - don't give in to the negative self-talk.

emoticon My name is Lisa and I will successfully finish this challenge!

I especially love that one of your reasons for losing weight is not being too heavy for a fireman to carry out of a burning building.

    Good luck!

This month in Fitness Magazine, Julian says that people can break a plateau by resting from exercise for two days and eating more calories for those two days. Some trainers recommend doing this every week, so your instincts might be helping you--just be moderate and healthy in your choices. emoticon

You are going to do it! And... I'll bet if you look carefully during your "long history of failure", you can find *MANY* successes. Concentrate on the successes!

I thought I had a "long history of failure" too, but when I started (honestly) to look back over my life, I found that amidst what I had considered total failure were some significant successes. I began looking at those instead of what I considered my failures and things got better almost immediately! Now, I slip and eat something I shouldn't... forgive myself and move forward. I'm no longer a failure... I just fall off the wagon temporarily (sometimes way too often)!

Stay positive and and keep up your motivational quotes. Memorize a couple and when you start with the negative self-talk, use them as mantras.

Love the challenge, Love your reasons, and absolutely LOVE the name you picked out for the challenge!! LOL

You're right, though--anything you can do--whatever it takes --to get you to stay with your plan is worth doing. I know you can do this thing. I know it with every fiber of my being.

And I'm right here alongside of you--rooting you on!!!!
