When you think about it, summer is actually the perfect time to try to lose weight. No big holidays, except maybe the fourth of July, and that one's not too hard. It's not like Thanksgiving or Chirstmas, or even like Halloween or Valentines Day. It's not really a big "eating" holiday, nor is it directly assoiciated with candy or chocoloate in any way. I mean, we'll probably go to my aunt's house, and there will be food, but I'm sure I can restrain myself to one hotdog and whatever fruits and vegetables are there. The fireworks are really the highlight of the evening anyway, not the food. (EDIT, 6/29: Just found out about the fireworks ban here in Texas - it was mentioned on the Colbert Report, of all places!) Dangit. Oh well, I guess I'll just be watching fireworks on TV.)
So I think it's going to be pretty easy to stick to my diet this time. The only bad thing about trying to lose weight in the summmer in Texas is trying to stay motivated to exercise. It's just too freakin' hot, you know? I think it has been over 100 degrees outside every day this week. When I get home from work, all I want to do is lie around on the couch and watch TV and play games on my new Android phone.
When I do exercise, it's inside with the Wii Fit. Of course, I'd have to be crazy to go outside to exercise when it's like this! I'd rather not have a heat stroke, thank you very much. But anyway, it's still difficult to get motivated even to exercise indoors when the weather is like this...
(I did pretty well today, though. I managed to get in 45 minutes with my Wii, which included 30 minutes of aerobics and 15 minutes of yoga.)
