My 1st Blog! After getting off track, here's to a fresh start...

Thursday, June 23, 2011

It is so hard to get back on track when you stop going to the gym and stop paying attention to what you are eating for a while. I was really focused around March/April and determined to lose a few pounds before summer time and having to put on that two-piece! I lost about 12 pounds between January and April and was weighing at about 153/152 lbs. I felt so much better overall. A few people told me that I looked good and they could really tell. Last week someone said to me, "You've lost massive weight, you look good." That felt amazing! I have never been able to lose that amount of weight before and I have tried dieting and exercise so many times in the past and never stuck with it. I started trying to lose some weight and tone up when I was about 164 pounds in January of this year. That was my peak weight and no way was I going to let myself gain any more weight at 5'5". Since I last tracked my weight on here in April I have since gone from 152 back to 155 and I am not happy with this and don't want to go back to where I started! So here I am again determined and ready to get back on track!! I bought a 10 lb kettlebell recently and some 5 lb weights and have been working out to tone my arms at least every other day. On Tuesday of this week I went for a job around my neighborhood. I didn't push too hard because it was extremely hot out and I had not done any cardio since sometime in April or May, so I didn't want to over-do it. Yesterday I went to the gym with a friend for the first time in at least a month! Once I got myself there it felt great. Having someone to go work out with was also a major motivation in getting me there. We did 20 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes of walking on an incline on the treamill and several weight machines to tone our arms. So here's to a fresh start and staying motivated. I want to look great and FEEL great and ultimately my goal is to get down to at least 149 lbs so that I will me in the normal BMI for my hieght of 5'5". I'm going to try to start blogging also in hopes that it will help me to stay motivated! :)
