Lazy Days of Summer.....

Good Thursday Sparkfam! Its rainy & much cooler day here in Chicago. I pushed myself & hubby out of the bed with a big force. I did 30mins of strength training & then like a vacuum came & sucked the air of me, I sat there dazed & confused? What do I do next? I wanna finish my cardio portion of my workout but man I could really go for another 30mins of laying around.

Are the lazy days of summer really here? Does the summer time make you lazier? I used to love to workout in the summer but for some reason this summer, I am dragging my heels. I need to find some ways to get my energy amped up again. Any suggestions other than coffee? lol

Tonight going to a neighborhood smokeout to show support for our community & the police officers patrolling the area. They asked that we bring a folding chair & our appetite so food is available as well as meeting other neighbors. Its a cookout but a opportunity to bring people out of their homes safely in areas where crime is taking over. Chicago can be rough at times but in order to get our city to work for us we have to do work with them as well.

.....Are there any areas of volunteer work at your church? I get more involved in the mission outreach during the summer days.....definitely keeps me from being lazy....Lol!

    I feel the same way Dee! I was on the go and full of energy when the weather was cooler, but now that it's so humid I tend to be a bit more lazy and not feel like working out. It's supposed to get a little cooler so I am looking forward to that. Hope you had a great time at the neighborhood picnic! sounds like fun! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    You know what--I would suggest starting with cardio, then doing strength training while your muscles are still warmed up. Then really good stretches afterward. Generally I find exercise invigorates me for the day & helps keep my energy UP. But if your home is hot in summer weather, you would feel more sluggish. It definitely may have to do with the weather.

Hope you can perk up as the day goes on! Make sure not to overdo it on simple carbs (sugary foods & potatoes & such). Get some good protein in ya!

So glad to hear about the smokeout tonight. Lay claim to your neighborhood! Folks from my church sometimes do prayer walks in ours.

    Love the pic - that's how I feel some days! The coffee addict that I am, not sure what to suggest for non-caffeine energy boosts. I know that I feel really sluggish when I'm dehydrated - are you drinking enough water? Maybe start with a glass or two in the morning and see if it helps.
