Aches and pains of added weight

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

So I guess I didn't realize what I was doing to myself. By gaining back some of the weight and not being active, my body started to rebel. I as a 27 year old women should not have problems with my back, knee joints, shoulder joints, ect, but I did/do. How horrible to feel like a 100 year old lady while still in my 20's. Since starting back on the plan 3 days ago, I have felt so much better. I have been exercising everyday for at least 30 minutes and now I have pain, but it is the good kind of pain from working out. The first pain to go was the back pain. I was having pain when I sat down. The muscles would tense up and just knot. By exercising, I am stretching those muscles out, warming them up and strengthening them. I think that my body is starting to love me again. So now to press on toward the goal and work towards getting rid of the rest of this weight so that I can feel good and more like a 20 year old.

PS- If I decide to let myself go again, please remind me about this blog and how much pain I was in and that my body cannot handle even 10 lbs of extra weight (pregnancy excluded).

Right On! We are our own worst enemy sometimes -- but should be our own Best Friend! Taking the time for regular exercise brings many rewards, and you're starting to see them again! Hooray for Hannah! emoticon

I know exactly what you mean! I have also suffered from back pain which can really disappear along with the extra weight.! Well, we can add it to the long list of "good things" that weight loss has to offer. And remind ourselves every single day!

You are not alone in this matter. I to am having pain in my lower back, joints, hip, etc. I started exercising on a regular basis this month. Decided that after putting my son down for bed at 8:00 PM I would use that time to exercise and I can tell a huge difference. It's so hard to just get started or even find the time but I'm having to MAKE time and it is paying off.

I agree, I am in my 20's and feel like I am 70. Why do we do these things to ourselves? Good for you for taking the steps to fix it.
