Yoda is slowly getting used to us

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

It has taken Yoda longer to get used to us than our Ringo did. But we did visit Ringo at the pet store at least once a week and a lot of people handled him. With Yoda, he was more protected, mostly to keep him healthy and germs away. It is a process, from him being taken away from his parents, breeder and home, then flying all the way across the country in a noisy airplane on to our house and a different cage and people.

I made him this atom swing from wooden embroidery hoops.

I haven't done any macrame since I was a teen, almost forgot how to do it.

My oldest daughter had a grey parrot, don't remember the rest of the name beside grey. She bit me and if my finger had been turned a little farther I think she would have taken a bite out of me. It really hurt. She was not used to being handled by anybody but Emily. I used to do macrame...you did a really good job with those hoops.

Nice job on the Macrame. It's been that long for me too but I never did a lot either so I'd have to dig out instructions to refresh the brain. Yoda is a cutie!
