The Path to a Dream

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

The path to a dream is paved with sacrifices and lined with determination.
And though it has many stumbling blocks along the way
And may go in more than one direction, it is marked with faith.
It is traveled by belief and courage, persistence and hard work.
It is conquered with a willingness to face challenges and take chances,
Along the way, you may have to confront doubts, setbacks, and unfairness.
But when the path comes to an end, you will find that there is no greater joy
than MAKING YOUR DREAM COME TRUE. - Barbara Cage (from The Language of Success)

These words are so true. Dreams are paved with sacrifices and lined w/ determination. I forget that sometimes. It can be easier to make excuses and allow yourself to drift away from your dreams but without sacrifice and true perseverance, you don't stand a chance. Hard work, persistence, belief and courage are all necessary. I have been lazy and forgotten the belief in myself and have lost the courage to pursue my dreams.
I have risked little and so I have gained little except for the knowledge that I am stagnant and not pursuing my dreams.

I have failed and failed and failed. But it's not that I have failed, its that I keep on trying. It isnt easy... but it can be done. I have to keep trying. I know the joy I will feel when my dreams are realized. When I can say I did it, I made it, I'm here. I want to be there but without determination and continuous effort, I cannot achieve that. So I will continue to try and try and try and try. I'm finding my fire, my spirit, my drive.

I will become and actress and I will lose 35lbs. I will not stop until I achieve these things and if I do stop, I will pick up and continue my journey. Because I need to make my dreams come true. I have the power within me to do great things and I will believe in myself that I can achieve them.

This is great. So inspiring! I've been getting a bit complacent too recently and decided to make a pledge to get back up there and carry on. You can fail a hundred times but as long as you get back on track you will succeed in the end.

Wow! You and me both! You have summed everything up for me. I can walk along side anyone, encourage and believe in whatever it is they want to achieve but me? Nope, very little self belief, very little confidence that I will succeed but you have really inspired me. If others can do it, why can't we?
