I received a 500 minute exercise trophy last night. How did that happen? I've only been on SparkPeople since June 5th. No way I've exercised 500 minutes! Not me! Right?
I had to get out my calculator on the trusty 'dashboard' page of my Mac.
500 minutes is 8.33333 hours. 8.3333 hours is 16.666 30 minute blocks.
I've been on SparkPeople since June 5th- 16 days total.
I'm doing a 5K Boot Camp two times a week, about 45 minutes each session. A third time a week I am walking/running on my own.
Since joining SP, I've added strength training, 3 days a week.
I'm also out walking w/my DH, not as fast, not as often as I'd like, but still - we are out there.
How did that happen? I got out of my easy chair, off my Mac and started moving! That's how my 500 minutes happened.
Guess I can't say anymore "I don't exercise much."
The extra plus is - I am noticing the 500 minutes. I have increased energy. I feel fitter, plus less achy than the first week. I'm not taking pain relief daily now!
Only one lousy pound on the scale. Yeah, I still have that hang-up. I'm use to losing a lot early on...of course I've yo-yo'ed for about 35 of my almost 55 years...up and down, up to 70 lbs over a healthy weight.
Here's to a new beginning! Not 21 days yet, but good habits being formed and learning to appreciate results other than a number on a scale.
