My friend got married last weekend and I was a wreck. It was the first time I had ever spent the night away from my son and it was the first time since he was born that I spent the night away from my daughter. My Dad was watching the kids with my sister and her daughter, so I knew they'd be ok, but still... They'd be ok without Mom!!
My other friend, the DH and I piled into the car Saturday morning and headed out on a 3 hour drive up to PA. Only her GPS was irritated with her (as all GPS-es are) and we ended up on the back roads that were hardly paved and not marked at all. Up down and round and round, this girl didn't let off the gas much. The best part was when she took a curve a little quickly, flew through a stop sign, tried to stop and we ended up with a horse poking his head in the back window and check out how the DH was! We briefly entertained the notion of bringing him as a wedding gift.
We got to the Inn (I'm an Inn person now, baby.) My driver friend decided that the black dress I had brought with me was not the right black dress and we had a little dress up session in her room. She had brought 6 dresses with her. Everyone went back and forth on what exactly was the right dress for the wedding. Finally we settled on a different, but still, black dress. I was so excited as it was a size 18!!!! And it wasn't tight!! HUZZAH! My black dress was a 22. I haven't been an 18 since I was in high school. So definitely started the wedding off in a good mood.
We had a blast and the bride was beautiful. Despite everyone's fears, the groom did NOT faint. (Oh, there's a history.) and all had a good time. During the 5 hour drive back, after we had gotten directions and gotten even more lost, I got home and held my little boy for about an hour. I only stopped because the boy ran out of milk and nothing comes between the Chunk and his food. Not even Mom...
I put up a picture from the photo booth on my page. And on Monday weigh in, I had still managed to lose a pound!
