Making a Fresh Start

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Today I am taking the plunge, re-starting on SP with a new dedication after 4 years of occasional dabbling. I'm at a turning point in my life (suddenly looking for a new job), and decided this would be a good time to re-evaluate my approach to my health while I'm re-evaluating other areas of my life.

I successfully completed Day 1 by meeting all of my self-set short-term daily goals (except for getting to bed by 11:30!). I tracked my food (and kept almost within budget!); walked/jogged around the college (2 1/2-3 miles); lifted weights for 15 minutes while watching TV (instead of my usual vegging); and am now posting my first blog entry! I expect that my increased activity on SP will result in increased success in my weight loss/fitness efforts over time.

Motivational scripture: " I can do all thing through Christ who gives me strength" (Phil. 4:13). Motivational person: my sister, 1TRULYBLESSED!

Welcome back to spark Karen!! You've definitely come to the right place :) I too dabbled for a long time before finally taking the plunge and letting spark do everything it can do for me and I've been very successful. You've also got one of the best motivators EVER with your MWSE Ferne! :) Oh yes...I'm one of her fellow pixies who happened to fly out of the forest to come say hello!! She has definitely brought a spark to everyones lives she has touched in our magical forest (I'm sure she's told you how we are with all of our forest talk! LOL) I wish you lots of success on your journey. If you put forth the effort and take advantage of all spark has offer, you'll do great!!

Welcome aboard, Karen!!! I'm so excited to have you joining me here on SP -- it's changed my life! I'll have to fill you in on the secret handshake and code words.. here's your first one: "DH" refers to "Dear Husband". Derivatives include "DD" (Dear Daughter) and "DS" (Dear Son). You can refer to me as MWSE (Most Wonderful Sister Ever)! emoticon
