I logged onto the Quilts of Valor website, dont' know why. Got drawn through an online fabric store or something. ANyway, I discovered that QOV was established by a Catherine Roberts in Seaford, Del in 2003. I graduated from Seaford HS in 1966. QOV makes quilts for those who work at Dover AFB in the mortuary and for wounded soldiers. I was the lifeguard at the Dover AFB swimming pool for 3 summers. When I was called to active duty in support of Operation Desert Storm in 1991, I was assigned to Mortuary AFFairs in Panama City, Fl. I helped families with their funeral arrangments. We have close ties to the military here where I live. Two large military bases and an AF Reserve BAse, and 2 Army locations. Lots and lots of connections. Half the population is retired military.
Last night as I was finishing up a quilt top, one of four that are finished ready to be quilted, I wondered what I was going to do with all of them. So maybe this is what I need to be doing, making quilts for Quilts of Valor. Who knew. Later.
