June 14th...a week until the longest day of the year and I am loving it. Here in Ohio we have light until about 9 pm; the fireflies have begun and they are such a delight once it is dark.
At Boot Camp, we walked/ran a timed mile; each 440 was to be faster than the one prior. My first 440 was 4 min, 1 second, my last was 3 min, 37 seconds - a slow jog but I made it all the way around!!!
Pete and I walked a mile after dinner - a leisurely stroll. A total of about 4 miles for me today and I feel great! I haven't felt this good physically in ages - that feeling of being sore and tired but in a good way. I showered and took ibuprofen :)
Finding SparkPeople has been such a gift. I've been reading some of the articles and others blogs each day...taking time to learn my way around.
I read an article on another site (Christian) about the importance of contentment. The author posted that contentment was a sign of faithfulness- trusting God to give what I need now. On one hand, esp w/material things, I greatly agree. On the other hand, not being content with the state of my body has motivated me to change habits, to healthier eating and exercising.
I want to somehow preserve this feeling so I can come back when I am feeling stressed or want to comfort myself with food.
