Three days to go!!!

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

I have one more day of work, then go to Fargo the next, and have my knee replacement the next day (June 17th). I don't know how long I will be there until they give me the ok to drive the 180 miles home, so I won't be on the internet for a while.
They say I will likely be in the hospital until Monday, June 20, and then I will be staying with my sister and brother-in-law for at least a day or two. Luckily, the replacement is for the left knee, so I can operate the accelerator and brake on my SUV. To me that means I will be home very soon!!!!
All I want to do is get home and start my rehab and have less pain when I am doing the things I want to do. As my physical therapist says, "motivation is not a problem"!!!!! LOL
So.....after the 16th of June, I won't be on the site for a while. I'll miss not logging in every day (I'm on a 390 day streak right now), but I will be back as soon as I am able.
By the way - I have 327 miles on my bike and 2 more days to ride before my surgery. I just might get to 350 by then.
Thanks to all who have wished me well and for all your thoughts and prayers.
Gregg

Greg, I had hip replacement a few years back. They might want to put you in therapy for the knee after replacement of course.
My husband was still alive then and he helped me in and out of bed until I got enough strength to do it on my own.
They told me not to drive for six weeks as they tell everyone after surgery.
I think I drove sooner as I went to Mexico to teach and used my walker. Have you talked to your doc about all of this?

Best wishes on the knee replacement. You are an inspiration to all of us, if you don't get to 350 miles on that bike before the surgery, you'll get there soon, cause I have a feeling you will set speed records for rehabbing that knee! GOOD LUCK!!
