My husband was in sports heaven this past weekend. My cousin, Mike, scored free tickets to the Nascar Truck Races on Friday night and the Indy Car Races on Saturday night, which were in a suite with a bar and buffet. There wasn't a single think there for a dieting person to eat either day. The second day I was smart enough to eat before going after almost starving to death the first night. One bite of the Mexican buffet would have triggered an eating frenzy that would have probably lasted until Christmas. Yes, I am one of those people who do better by abstaining than having "just a few bites." On Sunday we went to my cousin's house to watch Nascar and the Dallas Mavericks-Miami Heat game. I fared a little better by choosing among the best choices available. Will I ever be normal? It probably wasn't normalcy that got me in this shape to start with, so I made my own bed. The good news is I feel and look better than I have in 10 years. Thanks again for all the encouragement from the incredible Sparks family. By the way, did I mention I am from Dallas.
