Results of Shaun T's 6 Day Slim Down

Well..........I'm surprised and shocked. I followed the slim down as provided in the booklet. I didn't add anything new because I really wanted to discover how much weight one, as myself, can lose doing the slim down. Is it like the infomercials? Can a person really lost up to 6 pounds in 6 days? I really didn't expect 6 lbs, however, I did expect something. Low and behold, I gained 2 lbs. I suppose it is water weight because, by the third day, I got this bloated feeling. Now, I'm drinking 2 liters of water daily so I'm not sure about how to fit it all together. That is the normal amount of water Ive been maintaining for some time now. I examined measurements from last year whereas I was the same weight in May of last year, however, this time I'm one inch larger in the waist, abs, and hips. I suppose it is due to increased muscle mass? At least that is what I want to believe. Next, it is that time of the month so I suppose some swelling and water retention can be to blame also. So where do I go from here?

Actually, as I've decided when I began this weight loss journey, I will continue the meal plan. I think my body may have gone into shock with the increased protein. I should also get past aunt flo's visit so that by the end of the next next week, I may see some results. The only concern I have is gaining more weight. I began this weight loss in May and was moving steadily down, while increasing exercise until this point. I like knowing that there is more muscle, but increasing an inch in several areas is alarming. I've got to be patient, however, self assured that I can get this weight off. I'm studying calories in and calories out, looking for trends, visiting my nutrition chart. Perhaps this is a temporary plateau.

"When the going gets tough, the tough keep moving." That's what I intend on doing.

    I decided to change it because the meal plans I was using were exact meals I used last year for weight loss and what I use from time to time when I've overindulged in sodas and sweets. I felt the change would continue the progress while eating something new and different, using quick recipes that weren't time consuming in the kitchen, and I've never tried protein shakes with fruit as a staple for weight loss. The shakes are so quick 'n easy that it is something I can make rather quickly on my way out the door to work. Having a whole entire week planned out for you to follow is also a plus. Great question!

    I would not even sweat it until Aunt Flo (and also Tom) have come and gone! I blow up like a puffer fish....4 or 5 lbs of water retention easy!!

    your doing a great job, and just remember...if you keep going in the right direction, eventually you'll get there!

    just curious as to why you would change things when you said you have been having a steady decline on the scale? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There will come a time when it doesn't work and you will have to switch it up.

    I think your perseverance is great! Just remember that muscle is heavier than fat, so sometimes when you start exercising a lot more than usual, you can actually gain weight at first. But if you're following the plan, you should start seeing results soon. (And, you're right... Aunt Flo is probably partly to blame for the weight gain.)
