Trying to Hold On...BUMPY RIDE!!!

Now, I try to be optimistic and patient...After all, I teach middle school hormonal dramatic angels. So why can't I stomach the incompetent nature of an adult on the phone? Am I expecting too much? Obviously I am.

Situation: I am attempting to get a discounted hotel room rate which Company X does comparison rates or cancels an existing reservation if not price match. Sounds simple right? NOT!
After talking to a service rep @ Company X, the rep says, "You'll need to call back in 30 minutes." Why was I holding for about 40 minutes and finally hung up? When I ask for an explanation about why I have to call back, the rep says because he could not get into the other company's site. Mind you, I was online on both sites while we conversed.

Problem: He didn't want to honor the policy of price matching. At some point in the conversation, he lied and stated that he was out-of-state, but later said he was in state...hmmm...(personally, I think he was outsourced).

I have NO problem with outsourcing IF the company's rep is HONEST AND comprehends the customer's needs. Too much to ask? Apparently.
So...why am I still on hold...15minutes now...new call...AAAAHHHHH!!!

    I know it is frustrating, but I would definitely keep up with it and make them honor their agreement. I have been on many a conversation that frustrated the heck out of me and I have since learned to get names, times, write down the conversation, etc.

They like to play the "who did you talk to" game in hopes that you have no clue and then they can wiggle out of something. Not happening. Burned too many times for that one.

Good luck soror. And tell them, to please not make your soror come there and have to kick some booty. I mean, by the time I arrived I would be sooooooooo HOT! emoticon Just saying is all emoticon emoticon

    Keep at it. I think companies need to be held responsible. If they are going to make claims to get you in they better deliver and if they don't I think it's our job to call them on it. I hope you get your deal and maybe a little more for all the run around. Stick to it!

    They were not honest with you! That happens....I would get in touch with them again and ask what's the deal?
