Yesterday I did the final walk-thru/inspection of my condo with my tenant! She is a wonderful middle aged woman! She has lived in my condo since I moved out of it with Collin (into the house that I'm now selling!) for just over 3 years!!! WOW! She has NEVER been a problem, she has always been honest and respectful... you can't ASK for a better tenant!!!
I was thrilled that she left the condo in PRISTINE condition! I may have to rewash the walls but overall I'm very happy that I don't have much work to do in order to comfortably move myself back in! (Actually, being in the condo again brought back some GOOD, safe feelings! It is a positive step for me to move back there right now!)
back Story: My tenant has asked me to fix a handful of regular maintenance items during her stay. On one occasion in November 2010 (Or was it October?), she called me regarding the furnace not working! Yikes! Luckily I had had the same problem before when I lived in to condo so I knew how to fix the problem. To avoid an expensive repair man bill, I decided to go on over myself to do the job. (Note: this was just after I split with Collin) Unfortunately on the day I could do the work, my tenant was unavaliable, but her daughter would be home to let me in. I remember being there for about 1 hour doing the work in the furnace room.
So, yesterday my tenant asked me, "So, what are you going to do with the condo now?" ... anyone that knows me, knows that I am an open book... I can't tell a lie and rarely do I avoid conversation (eventhough it's really NONE of her buisness what I do with the place once she's gone!) but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate nor her business to tell the WHOLE story... So I said, "Collin and I had a falling out, so I'll be moving back in!"
She was slightly surprised, but then noted that she found it odd that my last name changed back to Meeks in my email signature and work email address.
I then decided to tell her exactly WHAT the falling out was all about (Collin's affair)... and she was shocked! I could tell because she said, "But Collin was so nice!"
... Yeah, I THOUGH so too!
Once realizing everything that I have been through this past year, she said "My daughter mentioned to me, after you fixed the furnace last year, "MOM, something is wrong with Jessica! She looks so skinny and sad!"
SKINNY? ME? ...SAD? UGH!!! It's now pretty obvious to me that during that last 3 months of 2010, the whole world could SEE the emotional stress I was dealing with, written ALL over my face!
Perhaps that combined with my reduction in weight lifting really did make me appear skinny and gaunt! Eeek! Another reason for me to get BACK into my weight workouts, I think!
Lifting weights = power, strength, muscles, CONFIDENCE!
