I only have a short minute here, but I thought this was worth sharing. Up until several weeks ago, I was a fan of napping. Well, not a fan, but I did it. A LOT! I would pick up my kiddo from school, come home and sack out on the couch because I just couldn't go any longer without rest. This, coupled with a ferocious soda habit completely destroyed any type of healthy, normal sleep. It's all changed.
I noticed about two weeks ago that I neither needed nor desired my nap. I've been drinking fewer sodas and working out practically every day, which have done two things. At night, I get no more sleep than before, but because I'm not artificially wired on caffeine and I'm becoming naturally tired by being more active, the sleep I do get has far more quality. I've seen the proof this morning, because I got about 5 hours of sleep last night and I feel terrific. Used to be even after 7 hours I would know a nap was going to be part of my day. Today, I'm full of energy and fire and ready to get on with the busy-ness of it all.
