Biggest Loser Letter to Future Self

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

In the final episode of The Biggest Loser, contestants recorded a video to be viewed by their future self. Their future self had reached the finale of The Biggest Loser and the end of their televised weight loss journey. They were living the life they had worked so hard to reach.

As the Biggest Loser Summer Slimdown Challenge begins, here is my letter to my future self to be read in 11 weeks.......

Dear Karen,

How does it feel to be 10 pounds thinner? Have you bought a new outfit to celebrate?

First I would like to thank you for the time you spent in the gym. There were days that were difficult for you, but you made YOU a priority. Time was not on your side, but you organized meals, cooked and moved forward in blind faith. It was faith in the process and a belief that healthier days were ahead.

You were never alone, you were never without support and encouragement. Remember the day you walked by the teachers' lounge and you walked right past the cookies, because you knew there were 1,012 members of The Biggest Loser All Teams that would be disappointed if you took one. One step at a time, one day at a time. (Just keep stepping right past those cookies. Heehee!)

You have come a long way. Enjoy the time ahead. The “new” Karen looks great but the “old “ Karen looked fantastic too. Time to let go of the old for that which is new. Remember where you came from and who your true friends are because from your past experiences strength has emerged.
