Reality Check, or 'Measurements vs Perception'

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

So here is something interesting I discovered today - I may not be as big and round as I think I am

Cool news, huh? I find it very hard to believe. emoticon

Here's what happened - I put on a pair of jeans today that not only fit, but fit loosely. They are a size 8, Levi's Curvy 529 (LOVE these jeans, btw)

I started thinking that I wanted more britches that fit like this and maybe? I could even start looking at a size 6 ((be still my heart!!))

Anyway - went out to Levi's main website, plugged in Curvy 529 and found their new little Curve ID questionnaire. Kind of cool and very interesting. They have a few different ways of determining your 'curve factor' and what kind of jeans you may wish to wear.

Ok - fine. The first thing I tried was the quiz - A series of pictures are presented and you pick the one that you think most closely matches you.

I ended up with a Bold Curve - seemed to make sense to me as I have always had big thighs and a rounded rear with a smaller waist.

I then did the measurement test. Turns out my 'true' Curve ID is only Slight - not Bold or even Demi, but SLIGHT. Not only that - the tag line states "Celebrates straight figures"

WTH? Me? A straight figure? Since when? emoticon

Honestly, I would trust the measurements over 'eyeballing' some pictures and I measured a couple of times emoticon. But I am absolutely flabbergasted.

I guess this means my workouts have been effective.
