emoticon From Disney to Broadway! Had to plug the show.

Anyone in the San Diego area, check it out. A few tickets still available. Guaranteed to cure what ails you! Singin', dancin', great kids competing for scholarship money, dazzling lights and lots of action!

Phew! emoticon

This week is always so hectic. Last rehearsal tonight, boy we could use another month's worth, but somehow it always comes together. It ain't perfect but for $20 its a bargain and shows your support of music education in our schools. Despite the cutbacks, kids are still pursuing a musical education. With 2 going to NYU, 1 to Harvard, 2 to UCLA, and 1 to Pt Loma Nazarene. These could be 6 of the brightest bulbs on broadway.

Tomorrow will be dress rehearsal starting with specialty acts at 5:10 and finishing up when we finish up...10, 11 or midnight? That's the time to make our mistakes and iron out the wrinkles. The last part is hard since the median age of the talent (no including the high school seniors) is 70+. Comparatively I am a youngster, though we are finally recruiting in some younger singers.

emoticonThe first show is Friday night, followed by a repeat performance on Saturday night. emoticon

We all sell tickets and hope to sellout the theatre both nights (1400 total). My boss is coming (maybe) on Friday, along with my long-time friends from Pacific Palisades (which is 100+ miles away), and the CCI group. (Canine Companions for Independence) That includes 5 puppy raisers and 5 dogs of varying ages 6 to 18 months. One year Bill, a big lug of a puppy, joined in and howled during one of the numbers.
He either loved it or it hurt his ears. emoticon

Will have some people from my Saturday night group over afterwards for refreshments, including my friends 3 kids ages 3-7. And then I can finally breathe for awhile. No board meetings until August, no program ads to sell until October, and no Tuesday night rehearsals until after Labor Day.

This marks my 16th year with the group, which has been around since 1974. I think I might be ready to retire, but when would I get to sing (other than the shower)? No one ran for my spot on the board of directors so I am stuck for another year.

Oh well, its a great group of people

I'm so proud of you and envious, too! If I lived "out there", I'd definitely be singing along with you!

Sounds like lots of fun! I'm a big fan of singing in the shower but group singing is just so much better! I think Bill thought so too which is why he joined in emoticon

Have fun and a good rest after!
