Back again (I know, it's the hotly anticipated sequel)

Friday, June 03, 2011

So I've come back to Spark (yet again) with my tail between my legs. Not as much as before, as I've actually had some success since I've been away. I've been following the Slimming World plan since January 2010 and I managed to lose 17.5 lbs (to my lowest weight).

Unfortunately I've become very disillusioned with the SW plan, not because it doesn't work, but because I find the rules a bit restrictive. I know that if I eat my calories full of junk that it's not good for me, but I don't feel it gives me the freedom to have that option. I've put back on 8 of those lbs I lost, and I've come back to Spark to give me a bit of a jump start, and something different!!

Another thing I found, was that SW plugs the eating plan to death, but exercise is somewhat (not completely) ignored. I know full well that I'm not going to lose and keep the weight off if I'm not exercising, plus I'm not going to be very fit!

So it's back to calorie counting (using the Spark iPhone app as well, which is super exciting!) and exercising. I AM going to get through Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred this time round, and I'm just about to put the laptop down and go and do L1 D1!

My ultimate goal is 133lbs, or 9st 7lbs. I'm all about losing the inches though, as my top and bottom halves are now very different and buying dresses is almost impossible!

Day 1 of tracking calories was a success in that I actually tracked, but not so much in the fact I went way over! Bit more focused today though, and I don't seem to be as hungry now that TOM has actually arrived!

I am sure you can achieve your goal in no time! I am new to spark people but I've done many diets before. I always find maintaing that lost weight the most difficult part. I hope keeping public journals on this website will help me to be more consistent with my diet :)
