I am not going to sit here and lie and try to tell myself or anyone else for that matter, that I don't like junk food. I am not going to lie and say I don't like fried food. Guess what? I do. Big surprise there! I adore those things, and I adore pizza and all of that stuff that isn't good for me... blah blah blah.
As much as I adore those things, I adore fruits and veggies more! No lie! It is getting to the time of year where the heat is becoming oppressive, and honestly, when it is hot out, I don't feel much like eating a bunch of heavy garbage. Bring on the salads! Bring on the fresh fruit!
My diet is just naturally high in veggies and fruit. I am not one of those people who have to make it a goal to get at least 5 servings in a day, because I do that easily. Perhaps, I over eat on those things? Is that really possible? I think it may be, especially in the fruit category, but I just can't help myself! Watermelons are so juicy and yummy this time of year, that I can't resist!
I am sure eating a bowl of watermelon is a lot better than eating a pint of ice cream, no doubt there. Maybe I am eating too much fruit?
Today I had...
6 cups of watermelon
2 cups of cherries (which really aren't all that great, but because I paid almost $5 for them, I will be snacking away)
On the veggie side, I had a big tossed salad with my dinner... IMO no meal is really complete without a nice bowl of leafy greens! It was a nice sized one, and I added some calories to it with blue cheese and dried cranberries... but I needed to bulk up my calories a little more... but anyway...
am I making sense or am I just rambling?
