My Body Is Trying To SHOUT Something At Me

Wednesday, June 01, 2011

This morning was an early one....first the dogs wanted out extra early (like 3:15) and the alarm was already set for 3:30-4AM to get up and take advantage of special pricing for the RnRStl for National Running Day, since it was so early, and I was tired and moving slow, I took my time and got out the door around 4:30 for an early morning run and then got home and worked all day. It was a very hectic day at work and I was planning to get right to the fitness center for group strength which I normally love, but my hear just wasn't in it. Instead I got home and fixed dinner, ate way too much, never got in a second run and am trying to do some catching up, but I am pretty sure that my body is saying ENOUGH ALREADY!!! I think it is best I listen before all control goes flying out the window. Maybe a good nights sleep and a short run in the AM. Going to be working late and then trying to make it to the bike shop after work before they close. Wish me luck!!!!

Wow, sounds like you've had a busy week! Me too! It's great that you got a bike. I really enjoy biking, so let me know if you ever want to go for a bike ride once you've had a chance to get reacquainted with riding.

Did I mention I just got out of the hospital with a bout of pneumonia because I didn't listen to my body for about a month? The last two weeks I did 2 5Ks then went into the joint for 4 days. I got everyone holding me down to a sedate time now. Take the break, have yourself checked out. Always fuel right. BUT listen to your body. Thanks for sharing and wishing you the best. Be safe.

Definitely smart choice to listen to your body. Sometimes, we just need a break...and that's OK. In fact, from everything I've read, taking that break is critical because it gives your body a chance to do the recovery it needs to so that you can get back in there with all your gusto.
