New beginning

I realise looking back over the last few months, and at my very poor progress that I have tackled this in a way that was not the best approach. I didn't have a proper plan, but was sort of doing it on the fly. I am working my way through the 28 day challenge and this has helped me identify my starting steps. For me simply cutting down on what I am eating isn't going to do it - I really need to look at what I want from my life, and what I want to give to my life. What are my "true" goals - not just to lose pounds, but to actually transform the way I live. And to look at the reasons why I have failed in the past. The more I think about it the more I realise that I have never sat down and set myself proper, achievable goals. I have had plenty of pie in the sky goals, but in retrospect I can see that I was doomed to fail because they were not things that I could realistically achieve. It has taken me a lifetime to get to where I am now, and I can see now that I need to have a roadmap for success. Otherwise I'll just go opn getting lost! SP is great - and there is so much support out there. One day at a time....

    I agree with rainbowchoc about the water, it sounds so silly so goodness knows why it works. I would add very slow eating, and thinking about how every mouthful tastes. I found when I stopped 'inhaling' my food, and started thinking of the different tastes and textures, that a couple of things that I thought I liked, actually I didn't. I also was full much faster. If you can get your head right, and it takes a lot of straight talking with yourself, the rest will follow. emoticon

    we are all here for you! There are many routes to the new healthy you and you will find the way! Can I suggest you start with the water, it seems to help me so much.
