Gained 7 pounds in 2 days, how?????????????

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

I am seriously so irritated with myself that I just don't know what to do!!! I got on the scale on Wednesday and I was still 151 then I get on the scale Friday and I'm 157.8, WTH????? Seriously??? And I was watching my caloric intake and drinking all my water! And no, it's not TMOTM. I'm still wondering what in the hell is going on with my body! Sometimes I feel like saying "screw it, I'm done!!!", but I know if I do that I will be back to 249 +. Just so frustated and pissed!

Whether the weight is water or sodium or other things. I can guarantee it is not fat. A pound of fat is 3500 calories of excess nutrients. So unless you ate 24,500 extra, then the weight is a temporary fluctuation and I would not stress too much over it.

Yup, sodium caused me to "gain" 3lbs in a day! But i kept drinking my water & working out, and today that weight is gone.

It is super frustrating, for sure, but just keep reminding yourself that to REALLY gain 7lbs, you'd have to consume in excess of 24,500 calories!!!! emoticon Obviously that didn't happen, so rest assured it's just a water retention issue. I've also noticed when I have sore muscles, I weigh more, I think I read we retain water in our muscles when we've worked them hard enough to be sore.

Not the end of the world sweetie. Go on. If you throw in the towel like you say. It will be harder to look at yourself if you gain. . Even exercising will cause gain muscle. Not every week. Your body has to adapt. To all your doing. Some times you gain but really your heading down to inches. You will balance out. Hang in there.

This is not a diet. It is learning to live for a change in eating and to exercise. To live healthy. If your upset now. Then your doing it for the wrong reasons. Your doing it to lose the old fashion way. Right. For a hurry. Diets do not work. Life healthy changes do.

We have done what you say but that is what we have to change.
Learning to go with the punches. Trials and tribs. That will make you a achiever. In the end you will being blogging in here and doing the happy dance. You watch. Go look at other peoples pages. That will move you to motivate. I am sure you have motivated others. Plus your friends body or other friends on Sparks are not the same as yours. We all lose different but will come to the top .
Others faster and others slower. Give up and you will be a unhappy camper.

This site is the best. One you do not have to pay for the site to join and 2 look at the sucess rate here.

Look at the numbers of people who have loss here to the ones who leave and gain.

Not worth it to give up Sweetie. You have on one blog 103 Gone. Now keep your mo joe going . Go read a gal name Epic's Introduction spark page. One either says she is too blunt like I or others say she is a Motivator for all.

emoticon Patience.

Thank you for all of the comments! I didn't think about sodium. And it makes sense now that I think about it...my husband went out and bought a BIG jar of pickles that look like they are on steriods! And I've been eating them as a snack because they don't have any calories in them. And then 2 weekends ago I was outside in the heat working on my patio table and chairs for quite a few hours. It all makes sense now. I will start watching my sodium intake much closer now. Again, thank you!!!!

It is probably sodium- remember one number never defines you. stick with what you are doing, keep drinking lots of water, increase your fiber (sometimes I even add a fiber supplement), keep working out and stay off the scale for a few days. If it is going to stress you out ignore it for a few days. Give yourself 3 days of healthy eating, working out, drinking water, and watching your sodium- then jump back on and it will probably be right back down. Remember no number can ever define your entire journey. You are doing good- keep it up!

I too had gained 3 pounds. I had been eating out and the salt always makes me gain weight. Also, if I am out in the hot weather a lot I will gain from the heat making my body retain more water. It took me a long time to figure this out. This morning when I weighed I was back down to my usual weight. I weigh every morning and I have a five pound leadway. If I weigh more one morning, in the next couple of days I go back down as I loose the water weight. Works for me.

I have the problem with salt too. I ate out for the past four days, and gained 4-5 pounds. I tried to select the right food too. I know the water weight will be gone in a couple of days. It's still hard to believe I've gained that much.

Have you been eating out? Sodium plays a big part in my weight gain. I've unfortunately been eating out a lot this weekend and I definitely plan on a weight gain.

If you've been within calorie range I'm sure it's just a bump in the road. You'll see it back down soon!!

Good luck!
